The Media Specialist Association of the Philippines (MSAP) held its oath-taking ceremony for the 2024-2025 Board of Officers at the Makati Sports Club last March 20, 2024. The induction ceremony, entitled Spark a Spectrum, celebrated the past and teased the future of MSAP attended by guests from all over the media industry.

Known artist Janine Teñoso opened the event with a stellar performance, earning enthusiastic applause. Before leaving, she encouraged the audience to support local Filipino artists and the Original Pinoy Music industry.

Former MSAP Vice President Memo Moreno (Mindshare Managing Partner) then formally began the program by showcasing the achievements of the previous Board of Officers.

Notable achievements include bringing back in-person General Membership Meetings called MEDIATE, monthly events where industry leaders were invited to share their insights with MSAP members. The former Board of Officers also collaborated with organizations such as the Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA), the Ad Standards Council of the Philippines (ASC), Moving Walls (MW), and the Coalition of Organization & Association Leaders in the Philippines (COALPH). The previous leadership was also the group that hosted the ICE Awards in 2022, an event that recognizes the outstanding achievements of people and organizations within the media industry.

Then, Keynote speaker Neil Trinidad, GCash Chief Marketing Officer, shared the importance of experimentation, motivation, and having an industry-leader mindset in leading organizations to success in his keynote speech.

The ceremony continued with the official oath-taking of the new MSAP Board of Officers inducted by Neil Trinidad. The new board members include:

Digital Lead: Quad Dela Paz (Dentsu Philippines Head of Digital)
Measurement Lead: Gladys Basinillo (Intersections CEO)

As the newly inducted MSAP president, Reena Francisco outlined the board’s plan for the next two years. These include launching MSAP Academy, a training ground for new media professionals to develop their careers, reinstating the ICE Awards, and hosting an annual Media Congress once again. She ended her address with hope and optimism for MSAP during their time, affirming their drive to spark positive change in media.

The last portion of the event was the Fireside Chat featuring industry titans Alan Fontanilla (Digital Marketing Association of the Philippines (DMAP) Board Member & The Pod Network Entertainment CEO), Mick Atienza (PANA President & ASC Chairperson), Noel Galvez (Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) President & Vanguard Radio Network CEO), and Emmanuel Ordinanza (PANA Board Member & Nestle Philippines Vice President of Media Integration) as panelists, with Joy Castillo (Former MSAP Secretary & Omnicom Media Group Innovations and Culture Director) as the moderator for the discussions. They shared their wealth of experiences and insightful views on collaboration, embracing and experimenting with new media, and prioritizing speed over perfection as the core principles of success.
