As the Media Specialists Association of the Philippines (MSAP) journeys through 2024 and 2025, each PRISM meeting has shed light on the evolving media and advertising landscape. From setting foundational goals to unveiling cutting-edge innovations, here’s a comprehensive look at PRISM 1 to PRISM 13, reflecting MSAP’s commitment to driving progress for its members and the industry.
PRISM 1: PREP
The inaugural PRISM session for 2024 set the tone for a year of dynamic transformation. MSAP reaffirmed its dedication to longstanding traditions while embracing new initiatives. Discussions highlighted the importance of maintaining strong industry standards while fostering creativity and adaptability. Projects such as the return of ICE Awards, MediaCongress, and the MSAP Academy aimed to improve member collaboration, promote ethical practices, and explore emerging media channels formed the backbone of MSAP’s vision for the year.
PRISM 2: CLARITY
CLARITY explored the intricate web of laws and regulations shaping the media industry. The session emphasized the importance of compliance and adaptability in an evolving legal framework. Key topics included updates on data privacy regulations, advertising ethics, and intellectual property rights. Members were equipped with actionable insights to navigate these challenges while staying ahead in a competitive market.
PRISM 3: BRANDED
This session featured Ms. Pebbles Posadas, VP for Integrated Ad Sales at Viva Communications, and focused on the art of branded content. PRISM 3 underscored that successful campaigns go beyond product promotion—they tell stories that resonate deeply with audiences. With case studies from Viva’s projects, members gained a deeper understanding of how narrative-driven campaigns build brand loyalty and foster meaningful engagement.
PRISM 4: AHEAD
Artificial Intelligence (AI) took center stage during PRISM 4, with Mr. Eddie Lee, cofounder of AmplifAI Services Inc., as the featured speaker. He highlighted AI’s transformative potential in media and advertising, particularly in personalizing consumer experiences, optimizing ad placements, and analyzing campaign performance. Mr. Lee’s insights demonstrated how integrating AI tools can elevate campaign effectiveness, helping members unlock new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge in a data-driven world.
PRISM 5: ARTICULATE
Podcasts are becoming a pivotal medium for brand engagement in the Philippines, with over 16 million listeners. PRISM 5 highlighted the potential of podcast advertising, led by Alan Fontanilla of Pod Network Entertainment. He shared how this platform is ideal for younger audiences and offers unparalleled trust and immersion. Brands were encouraged to leverage Cost Per Mille (CPM) models and dynamic ad options to maximize Return on Investment (ROI).
PRISM 6
From leadership updates to preparations for the 2024 Media Congress, PRISM 6 emphasized collaboration and future readiness. Highlights included AGC Power Holdings Corporation’s insights on media opportunities, the introduction of MSAP’s new treasurer, and updates on the MSAP Academy. These initiatives will strengthen member engagement and elevate industry standards in the coming year.
PRISM 7: TikTok
PRISM 7 delivered impactful insights, headlined by TikTok’s MarketScope platform, which redefines consumer tracking and audience targeting. Members were encouraged to contribute to upcoming initiatives like the 2025 Media Congress and the ICE Awards. With innovations at the forefront, this session showcased MSAP’s role as a catalyst for industry growth.
PRISM 8: RETAIL
AI is slowly taking over the industry and it isn’t just a concept for the future but is very much our present. Prism 8 highlighted just how integral AI’s role will be in the Philippine market which is projected to hit $60 billion by 2030. These insights into AI-powered technologies serve as a reference to navigate the future through AI, digital platforms, and data-driven strategies that will define the next era of marketing.
PRISM 9: CONGRESS
PRISM 9 outlined the future of MSAP and Media a whole. Led by Jay, who gave an inspiring speech about our responsibility to advance media by reviving the Media Congress which will positively impact the sector as a whole. On the subject of the Media Congress, Ms. Jen Garcia unveiled this year’s theme “Synergia: Where Human Connections Meet Media Evolution.” An integration of traditional values and modern technology. This platform will reintroduce the fundamental skills while inspiring young professionals. Also coming back are the ICE Awards and the now Media ICON Awards (formerly ICON Awards) to celebrate and showcase media excellence.
PRISM 10: X
Key updates on the 2025 Media Congress, ICE Awards, and Media ICON Awards were presented by Mr. Jay Lim, Mr. Paul Atienza, and Ms. Nadine Quisel. The ICE Awards will include new categories for digital and offline media, recognizing behind-the-scenes professionals. This year’s Media ICON Awards, formerly the ICONS Awards, will honor 10 individuals who significantly contributed to the media industry, broadening eligibility to media agencies, vendors, research partners, and academia, with a focus on merit-based selection.
PRISM 11: BRAINWAVES
Technology should not replace but empower. And that’s what Ben Crawford and Jamie Brownlee of Brain Waves introduced. An AI-powered platform designed to augment human strategic capabilities within agencies. It reveals unobvious insights and accelerating ideation. Meanwhile, Ms. Becky Ubaldo provided key updates regarding the Media Congress 2025, scheduled for November 25-26, 2025, at the Space at One Ayala, and issued a reminder for Media ICON Awards nominations.
PRISM 12: UNTAPPED POTENTIAL
There’s a critical need for integrating AI with human intelligence in media and marketing and Acceler8 AI’s demonstrated this through their “ProgramMagic AI” tool, combining AI efficiency with human empathy. New MSAP officers were announced as follows: Jay Lim, MSAP Vice President and chairman for the upcoming Media Congress, and Raymond Dizon as the new Digital Lead. Updates on Media Congress were also provided including its segments: ICE Awards and Media ICON awards.
PRISM 13: PULSEPOINT
PRISM 13 tackled how the information ecosystem is crooked so agencies need to go beyond social listening. Von Cruz, head of Philippine Operations for Nerve led discussions in media forensics and reputation management. Media Congress updates include the following: Speakers are in final stages of confirmation, Finalist nominees were approved for Media ICON Awards, and for ICE Awards the entry submissions are closely matching the previous one, and some Sponsorship slots are still open.
Agency Heads Roundtable Discussion
The MSAP Roundtable Meeting covered pivotal updates including the Joint Industry Committee Measurement Initiative with two options (Kantar and Nielsen), progress on the Media Congress, and the mission of the MSAP Academy. Discussions also focused on enhancing membership benefits, updating the membership structure, proposing new committee leads (including an Ethics & Governance Committee), and establishing formal industry standards for the pitching process.
