MSAP Inducts New Officers for 2020-2021

 

MSAP inducts new officers, urges members to preserve “perfect vision” for 2020-2021

The Media Specialists’ Association of the Philippines (MSAP) welcomed its new set of officers last March 9 at Discovery Primea, Makati.
  
PHD Philippines’ Mickey De Castro returns to the executive committee as President, after serving as ASC Lead Officer during the last term. UM Philippines’ Jam de Guzman was announced as Vice President. Vizeum’s Onel Querijero and Havas Media’s Yeyet de Leon will serve as Secretary and Treasurer respectively. Mindshare’s Memo Moreno is now Digital Lead Officer, while Club Media’s Manny Hermosa is MSAP’s ASC Lead Officer. All will stay in office from 2020-2021.
 
The officers’ oath-taking was led by Paolo Mercado, Nestlé Philippines’ Senior Vice President for Marketing, Communication, and Innovation. In his keynote speech, Mercado identified five challenges that threaten media agencies and brands today, and outlined possible solutions to address these. “I hope MSAP rises to these challenges of attention, influence, truth, effectiveness, and freedom, and lead the industry to respond and help us evolve, rise, and grow above these,” he said.
 
For his own closing remarks, President De Castro urged MSAP members to maintain “perfect vision” and continue to be inspired

and vigilant for the sake of the media industry. “I’d like to appeal to our fellow members to be participative, voice your opinions, generate positive reinforcements and to create a culture of openness in building our organization to a better one,” De Castro said.
 
De Castro also emphasized that MSAP will pursue its agenda to implement changes that will benefit the media industry as a whole. First among these priorities is the establishment of a single-currency initiative for television audience management suppliers, which will come into fruition by the end of the year.
 
MSAP will also continue to tackle issues that have impact in agencies’ businesses such as implementation of pitch fees, and the creation and development of an ASF cap for media.
  
Alongside the induction and oath-taking ceremonies, MSAP also looked back on its achievements from the past two years. Among these were the 4th MSAP Media Congress, where the Philippines’ first cloud-based hospitality robot, Cruzr, was introduced; and the MSAP Christmas sharing activity with Virlanie Foundation, which replaced their annual holiday party last year.
  
In the next two years, the officers, along with MSAP’s members, aim to uphold the organization’s new vision: to create meaningful connections between brands and consumers through integrated, precise, relevant and trustworthy management of media.
